Our History

CAIS first opened its doors in 1999 as a specialty retailer in the community association market. As a leading agency in community association insurance, CAIS insured over 450 associations.

As with virtually every commercial agency, CAIS and its founder experienced all the difficulties associated with delivering timely and effective service to its insureds. Therefore, in 2005 CAIS shifted it focus from retail to wholesale with three specific goals in mind:

1. Provide world class service
2. Care about every policy, regardless of size
3. Utilize technology to the fullest extent possible

Later in 2005, CAIS earned a Commercial Expanded Market Partner appointment with Allstate Insurance Company offering products in California. Over the past several years, our relationship with Allstate has grown to encompass multiple product offerings in 25 states. In addition to our relationship with Allstate, CAIS offers multiple products nationally to the independent agency distribution system. CAIS currently provides insurance products through more than 2,000 agencies in over 40 states.

The 2008 launch of the fully automated website, MGAlive.com, heralded a new era at CAIS as a General Agency and National Program Administrator. Visionary in its conception, our site provided easy-to-use automation for association, workers comp and construction products.

In 2011, CAIS launched version 2.0 of MGAlive.com. Like its predecessor site, Version 2.0 exists to let our agents quickly and easily quote, bind and print policies for their customers. The new version, however, will allow CAIS to dramatically increase its product offerings across the country, taking our utilization of technology to a new level.
